Coloured Concrete Driveways in Abbotsford
A coloured concrete driveway changes the tone of the slab without changing how it performs. Abbotsford Concrete tints the concrete integrally through the mix, or with a dry-shake colour hardener on the surface, to match your home, trim or roof, in a finish that still drains and takes vehicle traffic like standard concrete. Every project starts with a free written estimate.

Colour without compromise
How Coloured Concrete Adds Tone Without Trade-off
Most concrete is grey because the mix is grey. Coloured concrete just changes that one variable, the tone of the slab, while keeping everything else the same: the strength, the durability, the cure time, the way it handles freeze-thaw.
We add colour two ways. Integral colour mixes pigment through the entire concrete batch so the colour goes all the way down, no fading line if the surface ever wears. A dry-shake colour hardener spreads pigment and a high-strength wear-coat on the surface only, giving a more vivid colour and a tougher finish.
Either method pairs cleanly with the texture finishes. A brushed coloured driveway is the most common combination; exposed aggregate can be integrally coloured under the wash-back; and stamped concrete uses both methods together for pattern depth.
How it works
How We Pour a Coloured Concrete Driveway in Abbotsford
-
Choose integral colour
We bring colour-sample boards in daylight, you pick the integral pigment or dry-shake colour, and we lock the colour code before the concrete is ordered.
-
Excavate and rebar
Old slab is removed, a compacted base is built, reinforcement is placed where the load needs it, and forms are set to the finished slope.
-
Pour and finish colour
Concrete is placed with the integral pigment already mixed through, or the dry-shake colour is broadcast on the freshly screeded surface and floated in, then the chosen texture is finished on top.
-
Cure and seal coloured slab
The slab cures to schedule, then the surface is sealed to lock in the colour and protect it from UV, water and de-icing salt. Coloured finishes typically want resealing on a slightly tighter interval than plain grey.
Versus the alternatives
Coloured vs Stamped, Brushed, Exposed
Coloured concrete is the simplest decorative move, change the tone without changing texture or structure. Stamped concrete goes further, adding pattern and texture; exposed aggregate adds stone texture; brushed is the default texture.
Coloured pairs with any of them. A coloured brushed driveway is affordable and decorative; a coloured exposed-aggregate gives custom tone plus stone texture; coloured stamped is the high-end combination. Sealing keeps the colour vivid and the surface protected.

Coloured Concrete Driveway Questions, Answered
Integral vs dry-shake colour, fading, sealing and matching house tones in Abbotsford.
Integral colour to match the house trim. The driveway reads as part of the property now, not just a grey strip. Two years and the colour has held through resealing.
Brought sample boards in actual daylight so we could see the colours, not under a fluorescent showroom. Made picking a warm grey easy.
Dry-shake colour hardener on the surface. The colour is more vivid than the integral option and the surface feels noticeably tougher to scuff.
Coloured the exposed-aggregate driveway. The stone texture plus the warm tone pulls the whole front of the property together, more upscale than I expected.
